Change in your position?

Dear Mr. Pipes,

I am really surprised and upset recognizing the radical change in your position. For instance:

PIPES: I would be reluctant to focus in on young Arab men, although they're more likely than others. I would instead focus in on a person's beliefs and political outlook. And that person need not be Arab, need not be young, need not be male. I think the important thing is a person's ideas, not a person's ethnicity.

It seems to be in some contradiction with your previous articles.

Please comment.

I am George Valdshtein, 70 years old, retired engineer immigrated to Israel from Russia at 1973. My reaction today is rectified by the yesterday's fact of a terrorist group discovered in Jerusalem between Arabs – Israeli citizens.
