Islam Leads To Poverty

Reader comment on item: Are Egypt's Islamists Heading for a Fall?

Submitted by Dave (United States), Jun 27, 2013 at 16:45

Morsi's imposition of Sharia on Egypt, a process that most Egyptians support, guarantees instability because the minority that wants more freedom are willing to fight. Since Morsi and company are imposing Sharia as a religious obligation, while those who protest are furious and desperate, we see how Islam can cause irreconcilable forces to collide, destabilizing a country, making it so anarchic that investment and tourism dry up.

A similar process is at work in Turkey, which is in much better shape economically to begin with.

In Syria, the clash is between different religious factions, a conflict that Islamic militancy has fueled, trashing that country.

Islam is incompatible with prosperity, freedom and peace.
