Several reports confirm the Sept 1 updateReader comment on item: Morsi vs. Hamas, Hamas vs. Morsi Submitted by There is NO Santa Claus (United States), Sep 10, 2013 at 07:41 Several reports confirm that the Egyptian Army is acting to gain control and stabilize the Sinai. That would include Gaza. During Morsi's short rule, the Sinai drifted toward anarchy as Islamist groups and Bedouins ran amok smuggling arms into Gaza and attacking both Egyptian and Israeli targets. Severing the natural gas pipeline to Israel caused major long-term damage to a steady component Egypt's cash flow. It sounds like the Army is trying to restore order. Unfortunately, the Egyptian Army doesn't act with a very gentle hand on matters like this. Thanks for keeping an eye on this story, Dr. Pipes. Please keep us updated.
