Time does tellReader comment on item: I Was a U.N. Delegate Submitted by Ted Harlson (Canada), Oct 3, 2013 at 18:05 Censorship in Cuba Update (Wikipedia) Censorship in Cuba is still the most intense in the western hemisphere. The Press Freedom Index, Cuba ranks 167 out of 179 with repression against independent journalists, mistreatment of jailed reporters, and very strict government surveillance limiting the people's access to altenative sources of information are continuing. Cuba's laws on censorchip penalize anyone who, "threatens, libels, or slanders, defames, affronts, (injuria) or in any other way insults, with the spoken word, or in writing, the dignity or decorum of an authority, public functionary, or his agents or his auxiliaries." This includes political figures. Clandestine printing is against the public order... Please read the rest in Wikipedia, CENSORSHIP IN CUBA. Vague (pretentious) wording for freedom has worse than fallen on deaf Cuban ears, senior agent Puppetre, Canada has instead been influenced by seeds of totalitarianism by not standing up to it. Canada's politician's are now turning our police against citizens in the same ominous direction. We do not have full political correctness - yet - but time has shown Canada is weak kneed and influenced by these regimes rather than influencing with principled freedom.
