European left aligned with extreme Islam

Under the premise "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" large sectors of the world's intelligent and self-nominated avant-garde align themselves with extreme forms of Islam by condemning everything Israeli and trying to isolate it from the enlightened world.

Many Americans are being convinced that US close links to Israel are the root of terrorist acts against their interests. Could be that the situation is just the exact opposite and the trouble Israel has with the Arab world and the international left is rooted in the close relation it has with the US? In the mean time equal rights feminist, gay equal rights etc. left aligns itself with gay public hanging, women repressing police states in the Muslim world
