Please Don't Leave UsReader comment on item: Yawning over the Latest Headline News from the Middle East Submitted by Emmett (United States), Jan 28, 2014 at 11:28 January 27, 2014 Dr. Pipes, I understand your desire to pull back from commenting on daily political actions. I will miss your comments and insight. Nevertheless, some daily decisions, from misguided officials, can have deleterious long term effects on America. For example, President Obama publicly asking for Prime Minister Mubarak's removal gave the Muslim Brotherhood control of the government. President Obama publicly stating his distaste for Qaddaffi was an impetus to his removal. Once again, President Obama vigorously supporting Prime Minister Erdogan only to find out he was supporting an anti American, anti-semite, Islamist. Adding the "red line" fiasco in Syria and the "nuclear deal" with Iran makes a good case for daily scrutinizing this President's actions and motives. His threat to use "executive order" adds to the importance of watching him daily.
