Debanjan Banerjee lays a trapReader comment on item: The Middle East Forum Reaches Twenty Years Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jan 30, 2014 at 01:16 Dear Dr Pipes: In his message our old friend Debanjan Banerjee --who now writes from Australia-- lays multiple traps. First he implies that with the Shell (sic) oild boom in the US, United States' main interests in the region should shift. Then he asks whether Russia or China is the greater enemy of the US. Debanjan should have stayed away from setting a trap and making veiled implications. The truth Mr. Banerjee is that neither China nor Russia is US' greater enemy. Both these countries can be negotiated with. The greatest enemy of all free countries is religious fundamentalism and the countries that refuse to acknowledge separation of church and state. Nice try Mr. Banerjee but your subterfuge was just too self-evident.. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
