Dear Dr. PipesReader comment on item: Erdoğan Has a Tough Job Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (Australia), Aug 15, 2014 at 12:53 Aydınlık: ISIS has been committing assaults all over the region, so why didn't Washington attack ISIS before? Why now? Pipes: The sight of people dying of hunger and thirst on a mountaintop for the sole sin of not being Sunni Muslims pushed the administration into action. I beg to differ with you Dr. Pipes here. The US would not have decided to bomb IS had it not been for the small matter of IS looking to take over Kurdistan and it's oil fields which are currently being developed by the US companies. I do not know whether you will agree with me but I do believe that is the true reason. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. That's not how liberal Democrats act. Reader comments (7) on this item
