I totally agree with your apt comparison. I've always thought mafia is the legacy of muslim invasion and long occupation of southern Italy. Same tribal organisation, same total submission to the local sheik, same goals same methodology and code of silence. Death terror mayhem and total disregard for the life of the outsiders downtrodden and tyrannized. Not to mention the status of women and the widespread induced destitution that keeps people dependent on the whims of the sheik and his minions who regard and treat laborers like disposable cattle. Plus the hefty touch of cherished sadistic brutality that's the highly regarded trademark of the koranic mindset. Mafia and islam seem to belong together.

P.S. same "kiss your hands"/ bow down /genuflection/prosternation in perfect mafia style, carefully albeit disgracefully exhibited worldwide by the incumbent POUSA before some Saudi oil baron.
