Good Cop, Bad Cop?Reader comment on item: Why the (toothless) Iran sanctions bill matters Submitted by Ron Thompson (France), Feb 13, 2015 at 09:01 Why has nobody pointed out that Obama should have used (approvingly) the Menendez bill as A Bad cop measure to which his own policy was a Good cop alternative? if he had done that then it would have been a win-win situation for both him and the Senate, with both sides putting pressure on Iran. Instead both he and the Senate now look weak and floundering, even if the bill, after a messy and undignified fight, passes.
