Full Portent of ISIS in the Larger Scheme Remains to be SeenReader comment on item: ISIS Attacks the West Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 26, 2015 at 15:48 The Title (ISIS Attacks on the West) is sufficient to the discussion of Dr Pipes topic here, but for this reader, is but a glance to a much larger scope of questioning of just exactly what anyone expects will be achieved by ISIS/ISIL/IS model without the larger and broader demonstration of power mongering displayed towards the Middle East. ISIS/ISIL/IS threats and displays of terror in the United States are, by this perspective, taunts. They are intended to evoke certain responses, of which in the current tenor of thinking in the current American Adminitrative Chief Eecutive's office, the American citizenry will not be expecting: hence Garland. That being said, it is seen the older American posture of 'taking the fight to the enemy' is not being followed; but instead, the invitation given by the current American Administrative Chief Executive is to bring it on here. The evidence is overwhelming to those who know what to look for. But who's looking? As long as the battle remains focused on imagery, the true objectives remain hidden in demagoguery and ISIS/ISIL/IS remains the current foil. Correctly observed, they are dangerous, but not the most dangerous. Just ask Syria. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
