Reader comment on item: Assessing the Iran Deal

Submitted by There is NO Santa Claus (United States), Jul 21, 2015 at 22:13

Unlike the Nazis, this Iranian regime does not know the fine art of propaganda. Because of that, they may yet kill this deal with no effort from the United States or our allies.

In the wake of the President's announcement, the Iranians have not responded with: "Hey! Maybe you Americans aren't so bad after all. We're ready to bury the hatchet and be friends."

Instead, we are getting MORE hostility from the Iranian regime including public statements that they don't intend to honor the agreement. As such, it's possible that the Iranians may shoot themselves in the foot regardless of any domestic American deliberations on the agreement.

This of course would be rather embarassing to the Administration. The embarassment would be quite justified given the manner in which our government negotiated this.
