speculations on isilReader comment on item: Incirlik Base and Operations Against PKK Submitted by wealth swift (Turkey), Sep 23, 2015 at 19:48 1. turkey opened the border and gave permission for peshmerga fighters to move their soldiers and military staff through turkish soil to join the defence of kobane against isil and this was the single and most decisive act for the defeat of isil in kobane. so pkk should thank turkey for kobane. 2. turkey had a tough time protecting its historical minor enclave in syria against isil, tomb of suleiman shah, which has great spiritual meaning for nationalist turks. isil was just about to tear down the tomb as they do to all historical monuments else where. turkey was forced to move the tomb to a safer location close to turkish border. 3. yes turkey supported the moderate sunni groups such as fsa in syria but never isil. such a claim is against logic and ill intentioned. yes isil was using the porous turkish borders for importing some of its members but keep in mind that pkk is also using these porous borders for importing its own militants. so this is simply a lack of "power to control its borders promptly" by turkey rather than a direct and intentional support to isis. if turkey had any such power to control this huge 800+km border she would first use it for preventing pkk militanst to move in and out of turkey at ease. 4. yes isil is not a primary concern for turkey as this group currently shows no intention to attack any turkish soil or turkish interests. so why are expected to do more than say what slovakia or algeria is doing. turkey after all is not a world police, usa is, so focus your expectations to fight agains isil on usa, not turkey 5. yes turkey is pleased by the fact that pkk has something to deal with now other than us. who would not like his enemy busy with some other conflict? personally i think turkey should help and aid which ever side is losing and keep this war between pkk and isil going on as long as possible. 6. from my point of view pkk and isil is like two large piles of ?hit, only one is red and one is green. other than this they have no difference in terms of terrorism and horror. difference of ideologies behind the terror is not important they both use similar tactics. 7. i think isil is also a great way to get rid of islamist maniacs, we should all encourage all sharia crazy war mongers to go and "fight for the caliphate and be a martyr". personally i would be delighted to see all sharia crazed radical islamist isil supporters and seperatist pkk terrorists to go to syria leaving turkey for good, and fight there to death with each other untill the last militant. also france and uk should be happy to finally found a solution to get rid of their own jihadist maniacs. the remaining ones in paris and london should be encouraged to join their brothers in syria. 8. turkey does not have a problem with peaceful kurds. turkey has very good relations with kurdish autonomous region in iraq and is the best trade partners with them. if pkk stops using terrorist attacks against turkey, i believe turkey can even support their existence in north syria. you can get more from turkey by political and diplomatic means rather than going through town and cities with kalashnikovs. even further we can exchange population with pkk in north syria as we did with greece in 1923. kurds who are currently living in turkey, if they wish to live in a kurdish only state and territory can move there (no force or coersion though, only by free will, those who want can go and those who want can stay) and similarly we can accept turkmens from north syrian kurdish region. pkk will be delighted to have all this population influx to his area of control and turkey will be delighted to get rid of her unloyal and unloving "citizens" than we can be very good neightbours to this new kurdistan as we have been to north iraqi kurdistan. 9. if we can get rid of tayyib's party in the next elections and erect a sound and solid coalition, i believe turkey can return to civilized world after two decades of akp nonsense. please keep in mind : tayyip and his party does not represent turkey in general. they represent the ignorant and backward 10% + foolish 15% who sell their votes for some coal and macaroni or some post in a government office + decadent and corrupted 10% who abuse government/state finances. looks like an alliance or orks. 10. after all does not isil look like a good tool to "tame" iran, another islamist maniac, only from another perspective. 11. no any other propaganda against radical islamism would be as effective as isil for the whole world to be disgusted by the true face of these guys, so in this sense i believe isil is also useful for stirring true hatred against jihadists globally. all the violence they did only served the new generations of muslim kids to flee far away from their harsh islamic doctrine. 12.after all, was not this war all for putting an end to baath regime and assad dictatorship? so let isil first finish his assigned duty and than a fostered pkk can deal with isil afterwards. eventually huge sunni population in the area needs an entity to represent and rule and protect itself so before putting an end to isil we must firts prepare what will come next and "that" will not cause further havoc in the area? now putting aside all their brutal and animally violent beheadings, isil can be a good tool to utilise for the time being... no wonder russia is coming down to save assad's .rse! so we need to re evaluate our position on some key points...
