Syria for the PalestiniansReader comment on item: Palestine for the Syrians? Submitted by Robert (United States), Oct 14, 2015 at 14:25 Dear Daniel Pipes, Would you kindly comment on the idea of Syria becoming the "homeland" for the "displaced" and "refugee" Palestinians, including those currently wiedling knives, screw-drivers, and cars at Jews in Israel? Now that Syria has been massively depopulated, there is clearly room, and need, to return people to this land, which one was part of "Greater Syria." And all Palestinans, those in camps in Arab countries, or those in the Disputed Territories, as well as Israelis Arabs (if they so wish) to "migrate" or "immigrate" or "settle" - or even "colonize" this raviged land which was, after all, their homeland - certainly before the fall of the Ottoman Empire. After all, it was the Imperial West which infact carved up Greater Syria, resulting in part in the current dissatisfaction of the Palestinian, and Arab Israeli, people. Who else is better qualified to re-build devasted Syria, but those who have watched most closely what the Jews have accomplished in Israel since 1917 (97 years) - since the Balfour Declaration? The Palestinian, being a bit like the Jews, and the Kurd, with no fully sovereign country of their own, seem particularly well suited to build from scratch, or Islamist devestation, don't you agree? Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: The Palestinians are acting with such barbarism these days that they fit right into the Syrian killing fields. Reader comments (8) on this item
