Why the Surprise

Why is the world surprised? The agenda of Islam and Muslims is clearly stated in their most important books, "The Holy Qur'an", and the "Sunnah". If you want to understand Islam, read the book. You can download it free of charge on the internet.
A couple of quotes may just whet your appetite.

Haddith
Volume 1, Book 10, Number 505:
Narrated 'Abdullah: I asked the Prophet "Which deed is the dearest to Allah?" He replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times." I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To be good and dutiful to your parents" I again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, 'To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's cause.

Volume 9, Book 85, Number 77

"You should Know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to exile you from this land, so whoever among you owns some property, can sell it, otherwise you should know that the Earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle."

Read carefully: The Earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle.
