History of Saudi ArabiaReader comment on item: Interview: I Expect Trump to Be Mildly Hostile to Israel Submitted by Gary Epstein (United States), Jun 2, 2017 at 07:58 My understanding of the modern history of the Middle Wast is that Saudi Arabia is the only Arab country that has not been governed by the forces of the West. If that is correct then wouldn't Saudi hostility toward Israel be based mostly on the Islamic religion? Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: Yemen also was not conquered by Europeans. Islam is a key part of Arab hostility to Israel but there are plenty of other reasons beside it. Reader comments (9) on this item
