Since Islam is not really as nuanced as the obfuscation that surrounds it this may even be true.

When both left and right see Islam without romanticism they of course may reach differing conclusions based on the same appraisal which is often a wholly obvious and accurate summation of its essential nature.
It is sometimes perfectly acceptable to understand something in terms of what it clearly isn't.
