Television in Time of War

Well, it's about time. Most conservative media appearances are pre-arranged setups specifically designed to humiliate, degrade and discredit the guest. The highly esteemed but conservative economist Thomas Sowell typically refuses media appearances and interviews because he is well aware that such events are no more than ambushes.

When it comes to knowledgeable scholars confronting Islam and its atrocious deeds, the game has a more insidious and subtle twist because media savvy Islamists are deliberately recruited who can reassuringly convey to the viewing public the peaceful history and nature of Islam. It's a well rehearsed con by the Wahhabi lobby that is so adored by the American and European medias. Accordingly, the media is nearly always duplicitious in advancing the cause of Islamists and Islamism while ignoring the much larger and looming issue of Islamic oppression, brutality and savagery.

No one will hear MSM discussing the 130,000,000 Muslim women who have been forced to undergo female genital mutilation or the 9-10 year old girls sold by families into arranged marriages... a practice no different than horse or camel trading.

The media religiously adheres to the basic premise of liberalism - that all cultures and religions and equally valid and worthy regardless of their inhumane practices or gruesome deeds. For such moral lapses, I can no longer view American media, not to mention that it has largely been reduced to missing person and celebrity trial TV. Waiting for information on the next Islamist attack, I do keep the TV on but muted. I was luckly enough last week to catch the Dr. Pipes, Islamist and Monica Crowley exchange because I merely glanced at the screen at the right moment.

I applaud the decision of Dr. Pipes to refuse media interviews designed to disparage his incredible knowledge and scholarship. Frankly, the America media isn't worthy of Dr. Pipes. I have learned far more from Dr. Pipes than I have even learned from our moronic TV networks. Moreover, I can see no reason why Dr. Pipes should sacrifice his dignity or risk his integrity for a media appearance.

Folks seeking the truth will find Dr. Pipes and those who are glued to MSM as the arbiter and purveyer of truth are far too intellectually lazy to rise above the cleverly disguised disinformation campaign that romanticizes terror. The dominant viewship of MSM consists of followers who seek entertainment and not knowledge.
