There Will Be No Going Back to the Drawing BoardReader comment on item: Assessing Trump's Middle East Policies Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Feb 28, 2018 at 11:49 There is no mistaking (for those who are so disposed) the direction of the Middle East policies of President Trump; promote the safety and peaceful solution of Israel's status in the Middle East: all the rest of the issues will resolve themselves, one way or another. That may seem shallow and even banal; but the reality is that no one who shares President Trump's vision for peace for Israel believes anyone one does not share that vision are on the path to destruction and have no clue how to stop it. Going 'back to the drawing board,' like they did at Oslo or the other attempts to draft a peace accord, will not produce any new means to resolve the issues of the Middle East dilemma. A narrative by Zalman Shoval of Israel Hayom of how the new posture of PA leader Mahmoud Abbas is moving unilaterally towards obtaining an edict from the United Nations as license to move against Israel, now demonstrates the true religion of hatred for anything Jewish; and that has already opened the door to the war Abbas wants to attack Israel. Once that war gains momentum (as it likely will at the fall of Damascus), Abbas will be sidelined into the shadows for his failure to stop his hatred and the powers that be will be not far behind for their complicity. There will be no going back to the drawing board to solve that. The original planned promise of Israel's future will be set in place when all the powder plumes settle.
