Modern Dietary Restrictions Based Upon Religious Regulations InconsistentReader comment on item: How to Live as Long as Methuselah Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Oct 27, 2021 at 14:54 As many diets that are proposed and imposed in this modern era of industrialized food processing as there are, none of them have been able to match nor have they been able to discern the one religious imposition of dietary restraints as found in the Levitical instructions to the Children of Israel; nor does that translate to those outside of that series of requirements. The Judaic 'kosher' rules are proscribed for a specific reason that is reserved for the Children of the Judaic 'exodus'; and while there are implied outside benefits in following such dietary rules, they are by no means meant to be religiously applied to the diets of those people not born of Judaic heritage. Further, there is no evidence that following such dietary rules will prolong any human life any longer than the current mortality rate, but most specifically not nearly as long as Methuselah.
