Dear Daniel Pipes,

You of all people are particularly well situated to realize
that what you wrote 31 years ago
is not or may be true today.

(1) I follow the analysis of DOUGLAS J. FEITH
who has consistently argued that East and West Palestine, is brief,
were only separated or severed in 1946 and 1948
where the sovereign states of (Trans-) Jordan and Israel is founded.

(2) Islamophobia, it turns out, really entered the dictionary in 1923, and Wikipedia
cites a French source which shows that it was a French Neologism in 1910.
And in fact this term is used in contrast to more recent terms
such as Ethnic Cleansing and Apartheid.
After the 8 months which you cite
Churchill succeeded in having an Article 25 appended
to the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine
which allowed him to police and prevent Jews
from RECONSTITUTING themselves in what Feith likes to call East Palestine.
Eredentism, an aspect of Nationalism, requires us to recognize
that it was the scheme which Church initiated that makes what is now Jordan
as far as I know 100% Free of Jews.

(3) Demographically, things of changed drastically
since you wrote this stuff 31 years ago;
for one, Arab (and Muslim) refugees today
far outnumber (UN-recognized) Palestinian "Refugees."

(4) The Abraham Accords institutionalization among well-off Arabs
effectively recognize that Jews and Arabs are cousins - as Arafat quasi-hypocritically used to say.
This are involves a revolution with the Arab and Muslim world's way of thinking.
You need to revisit Pan-Arabism and way the effect of the Sunni-Shia'a Split
and ask about Iran's non-Arab roots
as well as the non-Arab Turkish and Turanian support for the Muslim Brotherhood
which the enemy of Coptic and Muslim Egypt.

In summary, it is NOT Advocacy to recognize the Legal status of East Palestine
in relation to the League of Nations and United Nations International Law.
When you renounce Advocacy (for yourself) you position yourself so
that you are not able to oppose Revisionist History;
that Jordan is not Palestine is Palestinian Revisionist History.
And so are the uses of "Ethnic Cleansing," "Apartheid" and even "Colonialism."
As you actually know, the Colonists were not the Jews but the British and French
who created the "artificial" mess in Palestine; the result was in part
that 6,000,000 "vacancies" in Palestine because the NAZIS exterminated the Jews
who otherwise might have RECONSTITUTED themselves in East Palestine.

(5) You give no weight here whatsoever to Muslim and Arab Colonialism and Immigration and Transfer of Population. You do not discuss the Bedouins who roamed all of Arabia, and even today
resist settlement as citizens of Israel and wish to move as Arab tribes have done for centuries;
that is an issue of Modernity which American Indians also struggled with.

In summary, I think you give the 8 months duration unwarranted significance,
and fail to recognize the fact that Muslim Transjordan and Jewish Israel
were only formally or legally established in 1946 and 1948 respectively.
So Jordan is Palestine means that Israelis or Jews should be permitted
to invest, settle, and live in Jordan (21%) as Muslim or non-Jewish (Arabs) do in Israel.

PS: The Jordan River has, since 31 years ago, almost dried out,
and it's division of Palestine in 2 no longer holds obviously.

Daniel Pipes replies:

If anything major has changed since 1990, it's that substantial new populations of Iraqis and Syrians have poured into Jordan, significantly reducing the percentage of Palestinians in that country's population and further rendering the Jordan-is-Palestine idea infeasible and nonsensical.
