Reader comment on item: Further on the "October Surprise" Conspiracy Theory

C'mon, Dr. Pipes! You know that history doesn't happen unless WE (white English-speakers, especially Americans) DO-OO something. Cuba and Venezuela would be well-supplied, prosperous countries were it not for the fact that the CIA sends in an army of infiltrators each night to steal food and medicines off store shelves. There would be no dissidence in the harmonious Empire, oops, People's Republic, of China were it not that a few million CIA operatives pull so many yak tails in Tibet, causing them to 放屁, with the resultant clouds of methane gas clouding millions of minds everywhere from the Pamir Heights to the mouth of the Chang Jiang, and from Sanya on Hainan to Aihui in Heilongjiang. The whole Islamic world would be a kumbaya-singing paradise of justice and tolerance were it not for our support of the Shah and Israel. After all, didn't Marx, or somebody, assure us that the non-Western world was "historyless"?
