Muslims' deadly silenceReader comment on item: Empire on the Seine Submitted by Prashant (India), Sep 8, 2022 at 19:49 Dear Dr Pipes, I read you review of Amit Praksh's book on the experience of the Algerian Muslim immigrants in France. Reading that review also led me to read about the 1961 Massacre of the Algerian nationalists in Paris. It is not very surprising that many injustices were done by colonial powers on the colonized people. It is also almost routine that many scholars write about these injustices. In a way, some self-criticism is good for all societies when it comes to addressing historical wrongs done by them. In fact, there are many French people and politicians who have taken responsibility and blame for the Paris massacre. Taking responsibility for the past wrong makes us better. In this context, your question that if things are so bad why so many north Africans immigrate to France, is also well justified. My matter of concern in this message is slightly different. If I have to single out one cause why Islam has become a royal pain in the neck in the current world, it would be that Islam has no capacity for self examination and self criticism. Islamic doctrine specifically prohibits criticism of Islam. As far as the Muslims are concerned, no Yezidi was killed by Muslims, Quran 5-33 is perfect and is as sweet as a national anthem, there is nothing wrong in tens of Islamic theocracies in the world, and those who were killed by Muslim tyrants deserved to die. The list can go on and on. Nothing bad ever came out of Allah's religion!!! Hypocrisy never costs anyone a penny. Left to their own devices Muslims will never criticise themselves as Amit Prakash has criticised the French and the French historians has criticised themselves. Journalists and academicians, greedy of publications and grants will also leave Islam unquestioned. Questioning Islam objectively, firmly, and politely is a burden to be carried by ordinary observers because if we do not speak up, Islam will swallow us all as it swallowed the Yezidies of Syria and Iraq, Christians of the ME, Hindus of Pakistan and Indonesia, and Persians of Iran. Muslims will not break their deadly silence, until we do it for them. Honest criticism of Islam is an act full of nobity.
