Putin is Stalin PerfectedReader comment on item: Do Tyrants Heed Their Minions? A Look at Putin and Saddam Submitted by Robert (United States), Oct 5, 2022 at 22:05 It is not difficult to Putin in the context of Russia History and Observing his Character. Putin was luck to have been picked by Yeltsin to succeed him in office. Putin is not a communist and probably never was. For him the Soviet Union was a euphemism for the Russian Empire. Putin sees himself the natural success of a Tsar or Czar of all Russia, Out received his training and experience in East Germany effectively as a spy for the Soviet Union. It is these skills which developed and most likely used to usurp all political, legislative, and judicial power unto himself. Everyone around him is a bureaucrat in place to carry out hid policy. He has no need for any advisor because he knows what is best for Russia. And what he want is Power for Russia as it had during Soviet times. To his credit he is not paranoid the way Stalin was. But he does not need to be because no Russian will rise to oppose him. The only power a Russian can achieve is in Wealth - the Power of a Billionaire. Putin only need Information - the kind of information he collected when he was a KGB officer in East German. It seems that he has made a Strategic mistake - the biggest mistake of his career. Putin observed the United States under several administrations and discounted the rest of the West and the European Union. He also underestimated Ukraine. And he believes in the invincibility of the Russian Army and assumes he can lead it the way Stalin did in WWII against the Nazis, Hitler and the German Army. The only way this will end is when Putin is out of office. It seems that this a Russian Tragedy (or Farce) which Shakespeare did not write. It is unfortunate that Russia only had Yeltsin and Putin as Successors of Gorbachev. Had someone like Peter the Great been in Place may Russia would have truly become a great modern power in harmony with Europe, the European Union, and even NATO.
