Embracing Multiculturalism in One Arena Where the Common Language is on the Palate of the Tongue

Reader comment on item: The Campaign to Treat All Illegal Migrants Like Ukrainian Refugees

Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Oct 23, 2022 at 18:58

If humanity has one place of common understanding of how to treat all people with appreciating what can be shared irrespective of language, it is in the sharing of what the earth provides to sustain life: food.
Hungry people are sometimes desperate in finding sustenance and are forced to relocate to meet that need; and when that can be satiated by the hosting of a more fortunate society, does this not bring a sense of comfort that sharing exemplifies as the best of humanity? Is this not alluded to in Dr. Pipes' notice of an American food institution being shared in Europe, the orignal melting pot of ancient migrating populations?
