Le Pen is right about Jews too?Reader comment on item: Explaining the French Intifada Submitted by Faiz Rahman (United States), Dec 19, 2005 at 16:21 Since Mr. Pipes think Le Pen said the right thing about Muslims in recent French riot, then he must also think Le Pen was right in the following assertions? From Wikepedia: On 13 September 1987 Le Pen referred to the Nazi gas chambers as "a point of detail of the Second World War." Le Pen once made the infamous pun "Durafour-crématoire" ("crematory oven") about then minister Michel Durafour, a Jew; the corpses of the victims of the Nazi gas chambers were incinerated in such ovens. In February 1997, Le Pen accused President Chirac of being "in the pay of Jewish organizations, and particularly of the notorious B'nai B'rith".

Daniel Pipes replies: See my views of Le Pen at http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/413.And, for the record, I do not agree with Le Pen's views about Muslims. But he has been the only major French politician to speak the truth about the riots. << Previous Comment Next Comment >> Reader comments (13) on this item
