Reader comment on item: Is Islam the Problem? Is It the Solution?

Submitted by James Ferrell (United States), Dec 30, 2005 at 12:31

This associate professor appears to have had a good portion of his common sense and moral decision-making ability educated out of him. If not quite explicit in his comments, he at least implies a moral equivalence between "US notions of democracy and freedom" and the "Islamists...activists, many of whom espouse ideas profoundly at odds with (them)".

Note how he so flippantly reduces the PRINCIPLES of democracy and freedom to mere "notions"? Just which philosophy does the good professor choose to live under?
