What Comes After Victory?

Reader comment on item: The Only Solution [for Israel] is Military - II

Submitted by Moishe Kaufman (Canada), May 9, 2002 at 17:55

While I certainly agree that "nothing succeeds like success" and that therefore the only solution is victory, the question then is what happens after the PA is soundly defeated? In 1967, the Arab armies were defeated to the point of humiliation. I was told by people who were in Jerusalem after the war that every house in East Jerusalem had a white flag visible somewhere. What happened next was that the Labor Government started giving back what was won on the battlefield! Moshe Dayan even gave back control of the Temple Mount, the heart of the Jewish people, to the Waf. I am convinced that unless we move while the "kettle is hot" -- while Israelis are still pained by recent events --- and transfer Arabs out of Israel, Judea and Samaria, we will be faced with the same problem 20-30 years down the road.
