Anti-American SentimentReader comment on item: In Muslim America Submitted by Akbar Shabaaz, May 12, 2002 at 21:19 Dear Writer I just finished reading your article and to a certain extent I agree, but did you ever stop and think for a moment that maybe the issue in question is not the indoctrination of new muslim converts but rather the actual treatment of muslims internationally by Americans? After converting to Islam I began to realise the atrocities that are being committed at the hands of the Americans particularly tageting muslims and muslim countries. The fact that every 9 minutes an Iraqi child dies as a result of American sanctions, the fact that American money is funding Israel, giving it weapons and money to sytematically eradicate our Palestinian brothers and sisters, and the fact that all muslim countries are used as pawns to fulfill America's imperial desires -- all this fuels the anti-American sentiment. These are facts, facts that cannot be argued. So to conclude I urge you to see the story from both sides as I have, then you are free to pass judgements.
