I came across this blog while trying to search for reviews of Dr. Basheer Nafi's latest insightful work; Islamic Thought in the Tentieth Century. I am aware of the (somewhat flimsy) allegations against Dr. Nafi and am deeply disturbed that you use the phrase 'Convicted criminals and even convicted terrorists' in reference to him. Dr. Nafi is a renowned historian known for his even-handedness both in the West and the Middle East and has regularly denounced the unnecessary, brutal violence of such acts of suicide bombing in the Arab conflicts. In fact, Dr. Nafi is guilty of nothing more than understanding the need for Palestinian independence from the oppressive state of Israel and its partner in crime the US. ...
