Law enforcement sensitiveReader comment on item: Law Enforcement Urged to Indulge Muslim Misbehavior Submitted by Sybil (United States), Jun 29, 2006 at 09:42 Elshazly did a great job trying to explain the cultural aspects of the behavior to the cops. Not only their safety, but ours, depends on understanding the behavior, how to react, and how to win people over. As for converts, they are part of the tribe. There is the Umma concept in Islam, which Dr. Pipes had discussed at length. Once a Law enforcement agency can penetrate that wall, we are all better off. Her message was concise and to the point. She attempted to combine sensitivity, while clearing up the reason behind an action. Would you suggest that Law Enforcement agents ostracize all Muslims? How would that help our war on terrorism? I also suggest you do some search on her before jumping to conclusions. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
