My opinionReader comment on item: The Bible Code Submitted by Julie Irvin (United States), Jul 13, 2006 at 13:31 I recently read the two books on the Bible Code and now realize that I should not have bought it. It doesn't take a PHD to figure out that yes the world will come to an end some day promised by God. It is not up to us to decide how this will happen. No one can stop the touch of God's hand. Aliens did not write the Bible and the world is not billions of years old. I would think that since many believe we are living in the "End of Days", which we probably are, and Drosnin states time and time repetively that he doesn't believe in God, then if the world is coming to an end soon don't you think it would only be normal to start believing in God and the Lord Jesus Christ? Jesus commanded us that we were not to know the hour of His return and that includes trying to figure it out. I think it's very strange how neither of these books leave a return address for fans to write back. Even Billy Graham preaches on the End of Days and he's managed to leave a return address. The books were also very poorly written and repeats itself quite often. The first book I got excited about, but am struggeling with the second book. Why would people read something from someone who doesn't believe in God? Why are these books being sold in the book stores?Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the Life. No one goes to the Father but before Me." This like many other verses are pretty self explanatory. I do not need to look for places to see if my name is written in the Bible code because I know I have excepted the Lord into my heart and that insures my spot up in Heaven. We do not need to know that a Bible code predicted Kennedy's death, because we already know of his death. God knows yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and he promised us not to forsake us. And there are great promises in store for us after the earth passes away. All people have to do is get the word out and start reading and a lot of people's questions to life will be answered. Did you know that God has a perfect number of people saved and when that number is reached Jesus will RETURN!!!!! I pray for the salvation of Drosnin that he may come to know the Lord and if he does then he may be the last person to be saved and poof "We can all go home". The dates mentioned surely can not be true because Jesus warned us about when all this will take place, even he doesn't know. We've all seen prophets, we've all seen anti-christs,"there will be wars and rumors of wars", but to note this is not the end. All the signs are there in place for a coming King to take his people back with Him just like he promised. The flood was an example of The Second Coming, Sodom & Gomorrah is another example. They to were warned countless times to stop thier wicked ways or else. We today have been warned by prophets and no one wants to live by God's word. Drosnin by far is not a prophet. Prophets do not proclaim aliens and they themselves believe in God. I wish I could get my money back on this book I bought.-Juli Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
