FRIGHTENINGReader comment on item: European Elected Officials: Arabs Should Destroy Israel Submitted by jojo (United States), Jul 20, 2006 at 21:56 It is difficult to judge people from one comment. But the totality of these does suggest very strongly that antisemitism is deeply set in the Swedish and French psyche. It is hard for me to believe that anything but but antisemitism is the inner source of these positions. I read that there was an survey in Sweden , conducted by the government ,regarding Swedes attitudes/feelings toward its Jews. 47% of Swedes were found to bear some antisemitic feeling/prejudice.The finding came as a surprise to Sweden's Prime Minister but not to the Jewish community of Sweden. We know the French; their history is strewn with antisenmitism from way back. It seems that the history of France between the European wars of the last century taught them little. The Swedes seem to be interested in repeating their history in prior centuries. They are picking on Jews as a starter; they probably want to be seen and heard of as of old.
