I am chicken littleReader comment on item: CAIR, Captive of Conspiracism Submitted by john w mcginley (United States), Aug 7, 2006 at 12:09 I hesitate to bring this up publically lest it gives the wrong people a horrible idea. On the other hand, if I can see this possibility I am certain that the president of Iran can see this possibility and perhaps has already made the arrgangments with that leader of North Korea. I am less confident that Bush and Rumsfeld and Cheney can see this possibility. After all they are the ones who decided to "shock and awe" THE WHOLE of Iraq with a ground force less than half the size of the gorund force used by the elder Bush simply to dislodge the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait. This is the same crowd who bandied about "Mission Accomplished" in May, 2003 with flyboy landing on the flight deck of a US carrier in the Pacific. Talk about the gang which couldn't shoot straight. Don't get me wrong. It is simply deeply depressing to me that Gore and Kerry would have been worse. So. What if we finally decided to DO something about Iran's headlong rush towards opeational nuclear weapons. Fine. But I hope our leaders see a huge contingency. The actions of the North Korean government circa July 4-5-and-6th stongly suggest that -- for whatever reason -- Iran and North Korea are quite capable of acting in concert with each other. What concrete plan, if any, do our leaders have if -- whether by threat or by action -- North Korea (who most likely does have nuclear weapons even if untested and the means to deliver then, at least several hundred of miles) decides play this card against South Korea if we attempt to take out Iran's nuclear capacity? Or even if they do not go nuclear, their army is far superior to the South Korean army and our thirty-seven thousand trrops will become, in effect, hostages. John W.
