Are the distinctions misleading?Reader comment on item: Coming to Terms: Militant Islam or Radical Islam? Submitted by sheila (United States), Aug 15, 2006 at 13:25 Daniel, et al, Since we do not see Muslims in mass numbers speaking out or demonstrating against terrorism, we can't continue to delude ourselves into the wishful thinking that there are only a fraction of extremists among the Muslims, and it is only this group that we should fear and lable as Islamic-facists? The threat is much larger and more serious. The Nazis did not kill 6 million Jews and an equal number or Christians, homosexuals etc...the Europeans were responsible by their silence, antisemetic views, and in many cases by their cooperation with the Natizis. We have to stop thinking of this conflict as a religious war and see it as an world-wide Islamic political movement. And the mosques are the political headquarters of the movement. All the Muslims who remain silent are as much a danger to us as those who blow up buildings. Particularly since the majority of Muslims identyfy with their religion first and nationality second. Let me pose this question: If you were a Muslim living in England and it appeared that the Muslims had gained enough power/influence to rule the country, change the current democratic rule of law to Islamic law, forbid the prior customs of the country, which side would you be on... the British or the Muslims?
