Reader comment on item: Is America Winning?

Submitted by Karen Perry (United States), Jun 7, 2002 at 11:42

I am glad to see that there are positive things to point to and I am very supportive of what Bush has done with regard to the reorganization of our government. What concerns me is what is happening in our own country. I don't understand why American muslims do not understand why most Americans are just terrified or enraged at the what happened last year.

My job requires that I fly all the time. I want them to racial profile every person that fits the description of a terrorist. I feel like we are so naive that we are our own worst enemy. We should just shut down our borders to people coming from terrorist-supporting countries. I am for civil liberties just like everyone else, but not for those people who simply want to kill us. I think most Americans agree with me. It is not politically correct to say so but we don't want to die.

Thanks for your work and I will buy your book when it is available.
