Support for terrorism and Bin Laden runs deep among the Muslim diasporaReader comment on item: Muslim Support for Bin Laden Submitted by barry kumar (Canada), Oct 11, 2006 at 01:07 I have a large number of Muslim acquaintances here in Canada. Most have recently come from Pakistan or Bangladesh and are illegal migrants, but some are second-generation Canadians. What I have found is that most Muslims have strong anti-semitic sentiments and support the destruction of Israel. Muslims from Pakistan and Bangladesh also generally support terrorism against India. Comments praising Hitler are not uncommon among Muslims and support for Bin Laden is extremely high. Most Muslims feel that Bin Laden is a courageous warrior fighting against the evil Americans and Jews. Support for terrorism is also very high. Most Muslims believe they are victims of aggression and consider terrorism a form of retribution and justice against the oppressors. Most of my Muslim acquaintances do not display any loyalty towards Canada. They believe that Canada is a puppet of the evil US. They are also angered by Canada's support of Israel. In my opinion, much of the Canadian Muslim community would sympathize with Muslim terrorists who target Canada itself. For most Muslims of the diaspora, particularly those who have recently emigrated, their host country is simply a convenient and comfortable place for them to live. Their loyalties and sympathies lie elsewhere. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
