Let us get togetherReader comment on item: The Saudis - Bribing Americans? Submitted by Gabriel Grosso (United Kingdom), Jan 26, 2003 at 20:23 Thank God, I often say, for the American press. In fact, if it wasn't for the American press, where else would you read articles like this one? Certainly not in Britain nor in France. That is why I often read articles on your web-site. Well-informed people know that the Saudis are excellent at corrupting American officials. Who runs the alliance? America or the Saudis? With all respect, I have got the impression that the Saudis are outsmarting the Americans. If the Americans (and the Europeans) are forced to follow Sharia Law in Saudi Arabia, why is it that the Saudis do all they want in America, France, Britain, Belgium etc. ? Why should US soldiers be forced to wear the modesty scarf in Saudi Arabia? I live in London and I know that rich Saudis come to London and Paris (France) in order to improve their knowledge of European life-style (drinking, nightclubs etc). Do you know what the problem is? The Saudis are very united and we are divided. In order to face a problem like that we should be united. Instead, we are doing all we can to be parochial and divided. Do you want the evidence of what I am saying? Europe doesn't like America; America is suspicious of Russia; Russia doesn't cooperate with America; France and Britain don't get along; Australia and New Zealand are divided.... the list is endless. The problem is that our enemies are all united from Morocco to Indonesia! LET US JOIN FORCES. When I say 'our enemies', I mean the extremists. Remember that most Muslims are very decent people. Non-totalitarian Muslims should be welcomed in America/Europe. And law-abiding Muslims are not our enemies. We are fighting against a minority of the Muslims.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
