Reader comment on item: Voice of America – CAIR's Shill

Submitted by John Bullock (United States), Oct 19, 2006 at 15:23

While reading an interview Mr Pipes gave in April 2006, I was struck by his comment that OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM was a "sideshow" to the real war on terror. I would like to know how it is that he categorizes a war in which the United States Armed forces have sustained 20,000 casualties and counting....as a "sideshow."

OIF is the War on Terror now.

Daniel Pipes replies:

We disagree. For an explanation of my thoughts, see "President Bush Replies to My Iraq Critique."

One elaboration: If U.S. forces went to war with North Korea, another "axis of evil" member state, I would also deny that this has to do with the war on terror. The war on terror for me is the war on radical Islam.
