So What's So Difficult to Understand??Reader comment on item: Are We Safer Than Nine Months Ago? Submitted by Andrea Hyatt (United States), Jun 11, 2002 at 04:01 Dear Mr. Pipes,I fear that by the time people understand what you are trying to convey, it will be too late. What are people so afraid of? Our country took a stance against communism. I distinctly remember Krushchev pounding his shoe on the podium all the while yelling "We will bury you"!!!!!!! Well, here we are some 40 years later and the Islamic fundamentalists have killed over 4,000 in our country. Why are we afraid to call a spade a spade? When is this country of ours going to start really protecting its citizens instead of playing this charade game? Do people think what is happening in Israel can't happen here? These are very frightening times!!!!!!!! Congratulations for your presence in the media, for your message to the people (those who are listening) and for hopefully reaching those who are open to hearing your voice of reason. Do you know what is being done about the Hilliard race in Alabama? I understand he has the pro-Arab lobby group backing him. All best, Andrea
