Impact of US Elections on MideastReader comment on item: Impact of US elections in Mideast Submitted by dsRon (United States), Nov 12, 2006 at 11:12 On the surface for the immediate future, it does look like not much will change. The undercurrents in the mid to long term range to me look far different. Face it, a not small slice of the Democrat party is anti-American, not just pro-peace or against this war--this is why there was such glee at the chance to nail the one true pro-War Dem dissenter, Lieberman. The Michael Moore/Maxine Waters/John Kerry wing will gain in influence as a result of this election and will blunt even the mildest Dem attempt to once again become the Party of Truman and Roosevelt, a Party with the stomach and backbone to both put its anti-American wing in its place and "talk softly but carry a big stick" in foreign policy. Thus, the US will resemble more and more the accomodationist France and Germany making concession after concession to the terrorists. Please, I ask in blunt terms, consider which Party is the real friend of Israel. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
