U.S. DOES wish to invade Iraq's 'evil clique"Reader comment on item: One Year Later: Was Operation Desert Storm Worth It? Submitted by Renee Jasmine (Canada), Mar 17, 2003 at 19:46 I'd like to begin with a statement that I am not a Saddam Hussein fan. However, he has been in rule for a decade now because his own people ELECTED him. Iraq is- technically speaking- a democracy. This article states that it is up to Iraqis themselves to overthrow Saddam Hussein, yet the U.S. has clearly declared a war against them in order to intertwine themselves in a position that they should not be holding. Furthermore, the only reason the U.S. helped Kuwait is because of their oil, I can assure anyone, it had nothing to do with George Bush's altruistic or philanthropic tendencies (in my humble opinion). This article is however, very informative and i've used it for school work reference.
