Passing the Buck and RationalizingReader comment on item: Jehuda Reinharz of Brandeis University Replies Submitted by Judith Reich (United States), Feb 15, 2007 at 13:14 Jehuda Reinharz is very good at not taking responsibility for the decisions made by his University, but instead blaming students or committees. The fact is that Jimmy Carter spoke at Brandeis. He refused to debate Alan Dershowitz. Mr. Dershowitz was allowed to rebut Carter's misinformed and incorrect "facts" without Carter being present. Now he won't allow (of course according to Reinharz it was not his decision) Prof. Pipes to speak. He rationalizes why he can't speak. It is important that the students hear what Prof. Pipes has to say. Universities appear to be open to everyone except people who truly know what is going on in the Middle East. Especialy Brandeis. Brandeis has now earned a different reputation than it had in the past, and it is not a reputation to envy.
