Dear Walter,

my name is Chis and I have just been offered a job in Riyadh Saudi Arabia as a University lecturer at PSU. I will be coming from Australia, and as someone who knows next to nothing about the country would appreciate a little info from yourself who has lived there for over 20yrs.

What is the cost of living like there? ie bread, milk etc.

I will be housed in the Diplomatic Quarter, do you know of this area and if so what is it like?

What is security like there? we often here of the car bombings and kidnappings here on the news, (not since 2006), is it a major factor in your day to day living?

What do you do for fun???

Travelling out of KSA is it difficulut getting exit visas for a weekend away to say... Egypt or Dubai??

Hope you can help me out

Thanks

Chris
