Reader comment on item: [Lee Harris on Why the U.S. is] Discarding War's Rules

Submitted by S.C.Panda (India), Jul 31, 2003 at 06:04

Dear Prof Pipes,
Islam has nothing but contempt and hatred for non-Muslims as evidenced by its classification of humans. The extremist leaders whether in India, the USA, the UK etc., pruodly (or unashamedly) proclaim to Islamists taking full advantage of democracy. Let there be no illusion about this. If some of them pretend to profess democratic virtues, it is simply because they are not powerful enough to overthrow the present governments.
But there is a silver lining. The steady increase in persons such as Dr Taslima Nasreen, Salman Rushdi,Ibn Warraq, Anwar Shaik and others have started quetioning the tenets of Islam. Your other email informs that the Iranian students have publicly demanded death of Mullas and Moulavis.
The cruelties, brutalities and barbarity of Muslims on non-Muslims are well documented. Any Muslim with an iota of conscience will feel ashamed of this... . But on the contrary, the Muslims pose themselves as oppressed and exploited by non-Muslims which is a blatant lie.

In my opinion, the USA is within its rights to apply any standard for its own security and handle terrorism with an iron hand.
Regards,Sincerely, S.C.Panda
