meaning of jihadReader comment on item: The U.S. Government Defines Jihad Submitted by chinto (Pakistan), Jul 18, 2007 at 09:43 Jihad is not what the media has portrayed it as - it is not a holy war. There is no such thing as holy war in Islam. Jihad is an oxymoron term used by the international media to describe certain people.Jihad is a arabic word which means "to strive" .Jihad has nothing to do with terrorism either. If it's terrorism it's not Islam. When the IRA started their bombing campaign, did we hear the media using Catholic terrorism? So why does the international media have a campaign on 'Islamic' terrorism. The Palestinians let the Israeli people move into their land. When the Israelis took over their land and their homes and Palestinians wanted their land back, they were called 'terrorists'. That's a bit like you letting a stranger into your home, the stranger kicks you out of your house and you want to return, and someone calling you a terrorist? There is no such thing as Muslim terrorism because a true Muslim cannot be a terrorist. A true Muslim does not go around killing innocent people.
