Back to basics...Reader comment on item: Interview with Dr. Daniel Pipes Submitted by donvan (United States), Oct 31, 2007 at 11:26 A mythology which advocates the taking of human life to come into the presence of the deity is unacceptable, and must be opposed. Does it matter if the mythology is internalized by millions, and elevated to a 'religious' status? Not at all. If 'Islam' were called "Malsi" and examined with fresh eyes, from the perspective that the internalization of the dogma can produce physical harm to the believer and others, would we be experiencing all the angst of opposing it? Of course not. We would view "Malsi" as a malevolent mythology, advise against it, isolate those who hold such beliefs, insulate our children from it, and create an ethos against it. Yet, as a society, we have rushed to accomodate, create niches, interpret laws, and perpetuate the mythology of "Malsi". As Bob Dylan said, "You dont need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows" The wind is blowing from the elites to "Malsi" and the non believers will pay the price.
