End of Palestine, End of Problem

Reader comment on item: The day after Annapolis

It absolutely turns my stomach to read these words from Rice: "But I wanted, in my own voice, to be able to say to as many people as possible, the United States sees the establishment of a Palestinian state, a two-state solution, as absolutely essential to the future of not just Palestinians and Israelis but also to the Middle East and, indeed, to American interests. And that's really a message that I think only I can deliver." - that's a quote, third paragraph from bottom of the following article: http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2007/10/93571.htm

I've heard President Bush state he believed in and desired a Palestinian state PEACEFULLY co-existing side-by-side with Israel. That was ridiculous and delusional to hope for, but at least the President recognized and sited the problem. And it recognized the impossibility of a Palestinian state. Condoleezza Rice not only omits where the problem lies, she claims a Palestinian state alongside Israel is "absolutely essential" to American interests. That's an utterly and absolutely ridiculous statement.

Someone should ask her about STATE SPONSERED TERRORISM. Someone should ask her about all those speeches from President Bush where he said, "If you harbor a terrorist, you're as guilty as the terrorist". How dare she take the side of Palestinians by completely ignoring the vile hatred towards Israel that historically Palestinians have voiced among their young and old, children even, generation after generation, suicide bomb after suicide bomb, kassam rocket after kassam rocket. I have utterly lost all respect for Ms. Rice's ability.

How someone can completely ignore the history between Israel and the Palestinians shows unprecidented and voluminous arrogance. Notice at the beginning of her statement above, she starts with, "But I wanted, in my own voice, to be able to say to as many people as possible" and she ends with "And that's really a message that I think only I can deliver." Pride goeth before a fall. "Whom the gods would destroy, they first tempt to resolve the Israel-Palestinian issue", indeed. I can only hope that President Bush has handed over to Ms. Rice this "pet project" of hers, and that he stays out of it.

As far as "America's interests" goes, I'm an American, I'm interested, and I for one have an idea of what would solve the problem: every time a kassam flies into Israel, TAKE LAND from the PALESTINIANS, and eventually there would be no more Palestinian territory to take. End of Palestine. End of problem.
