Salvation is the Almighty's GiftReader comment on item: Saddam's Damn Dam [i.e., The Mosul Dam] Submitted by jennifer solis (United States), Nov 16, 2007 at 13:56 When President Bush speaks of the Iraq situation and states, "freedom is the Almighty's gift to every human being", he does not refer to God's gift of His Son, or that salvation is free. Unless there is a secret "code" attached to the above statement, possibly affiliated with a particular denominational church, "freedom is the Almighty's gift" in and of itself makes no sense and is baseless. SALVATION, through faith in Jesus Christ, is the free gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). The freedom that exists in the U.S., for example, was purchased with the blood of our brave soldiers in WWII. The Jews were set free from those horrid concentration camps after Hitler was defeated. Freedom is not a gift; it must be fought for and defended; the Bible clearly illustrates this.
