DEPARTMENT OF STATEReader comment on item: Parodying Khalil Gibran Submitted by MANNY JAKEL (United States), Nov 17, 2007 at 11:43 Dear Daniel: Call me crazy, but i would be willing to bet $100.00 and give good odds that the original opinion came from the State Dept. For whatever their reasons, and i can think of at least 1, it is in the interest of this agency, also known as Muddy Bottom, to always keep a door open to Iran. For them, shutting that door by keeping their mouths shut would eliminate any future possibilities of of communications with Iran, thereby keeping themselves relevant. I have always thought they are operating in a fantasy world. As though i needed confirmation. all the best
